Post Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is recommended for at least a year by various guidelines across the world. However, one must balance the ischemic risk and bleeding risk to achieve the best possible outcomes. Recently presented TWILIGHT trial at TCT 2019 has provided ground-breaking evidence for future antiplatelet strategy post PCI. The current standard of care for patients who have undergone coronary stenting is to combine aspirin with a P2Y 12 inhibitor to prevent the risk of another event.
