Paget’s disease, also called as osteitis deformans, is a chronic benign disorder characterized by excessive bone resorption coupled with bone formation. This causes bone pain, misshapen bones, fractures, and arthritis, resulting in reduced quality of life. The Endocrine Society has provided a clinical practice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of Paget’s disease of the bone.
