Office hysteroscopy is widely used to assess uterine cavity abnormalities, but pain during the procedure remains a common concern. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ketoprofen are commonly used for analgesia, although they may cause gastrointestinal side effects, while paracetamol is considered a safer alternative with fewer adverse effects. To address this gap, a study evaluated their effectiveness, a study compared the efficacy and safety of oral paracetamol with oral ketoprofen for pain management during office hysteroscopy in 60 women.
The study found that the median visual analog score (VAS) during office hysteroscopy was comparable between the paracetamol group (2; range 0β8) and the ketoprofen group (3; range 0β6).
