The Medical Council of India (MCI) has revised the passing criteria for all PG medical course examinations. It includes doctor of medicine, doctor of surgery and also post graduate diploma courses. According to the earlier regulations, students were supposed to get a minimum of 50% marks in theory and practical’s individually for passing the exam. The revised criteria declare that students are required to obtain a minimum of 40% marks in each of the theory papers.

But overall not less than 50%, in all the four papers of degree exam and three papers of diploma exam. It is stated that “ Obtaining of 50% marks in practical examination shall be mandatory for passing the examination as a whole in the said degree/diploma examination ”. Source: ET Healthworld, EduNews
