Pharmacists know better about medicines than doctors, claimed the president of All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD). They are also writing a plea to the state ministry and the drug controller of the country to allow them to practice allopathic medicine. Even paramedics have written to the ministry seeking the same approval.
It seems everyone in the country wants to practice modern medicine without any formal education on the same. Amidst the chaos created by the decision of Maharashtra government to permit homeopathy and ayurveda doctors to prescribe allopathic drugs after they complete a year-long course in pharmacology, group of chemist and pharmacist has also demanded an approval to prescribe modern medicine as they claim to be already knowledgeable enough about pharmacology.
