It is well-known that the retention rate (RR) is the proportion of patients who maintain the same drug in a given time period, and it is one of the important tools for evaluating the effectiveness and safety of treatments. However, there is less evidence for the RR of systemic drugs in patients with chronic plaque psoriasis. A retrospective evaluation of 392 adult patients with psoriasis reported that RR of TNF-α blockers was higher than conventional drugs and stoppage of conventional drugs was mostly due to intolerance.
Furthermore, study suggests that RR of systemic drugs was negatively influenced by obesity and the history of previous drug failure.
