Respected seniors, I am a general surgeon, operated one 45yr old male for large epigastric hernia, open hernia repair with onlay prolene mesh placement. Patient was alright posteoperative. When he came back for suture removal, there was a bulge around which was fulctuant, I aspirated it and turned out to be seroma collection. I aspirated completly and pressure dressing was done. After aspiration daily for almost 20 days still it was reaccumulating in large quantity (it was not infected clear serous collection).
I took one senior surgeon's opinion he advised to remove the mesh. I removed that mesh now the wound is open about 5 cms long and 1 cm deep, after 4 days of removal of mesh now there's no collection, only wound defect is there which is having 2 gauze piece soaked daily. Still no s/o inflammation around the suture site or any fever. Now what shall I do ahead as its been almost one…
