Presbycusis is the most common type of Sensorineural Hearing Loss caused by the natural aging of the auditory system. Characteristically, presbycusis involves bilateral high-frequency hearing loss associated with difficulty in speech discrimination and central auditory processing of information. This article gives a brief description of the causative factors, diagnosis, and treatment of presbycusis.
