Ophthalmic Surgery is one of the commonest ophthalmic surgery performed all around the world this is the only eye surgery if successful renders vision to the patient . In recent times, lots of advances have occurred. We have gone from Phaco with foldable PC IOL to post chamber bifocal and trifocals, not to speak of laser and robotic surgery. It is the duty of ophthalmologists not to take this surgery in a light way there are some ophthalmologists who tell cataract patients that it is a simple operation and will finish in 5 to 10 minutes and no need to patch. This modality of treatment is not good.
We should not do this. Since most of the surgeons put a patch after operation then there's a confusion, maybe a patient can argue about patching. No surgery whether minor or major should be taken in a simple manner. Share your views.
