Postpartum depression or PPD is a major global challenge affecting about 15% of women within one year after childbirth. This systematic review and meta-analysis study aimed to identify the prevalence and risk factors of PPD among women in Middle East countries. Study This systematic review included 15 published articles, of which six were cohort studies, and nine were cross-sectional studies. Studies were conducted in different countries of the Middle East: Five in Iran, two in Israel, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates each, and one in Jordan, Oman, and Qatar each.

A total of 6683 women were included. Pooled postpartum depression prevalence was estimated by a random–effect model with a 95% confidence interval (CI) and forest plot.
