For the benefit of cancer patients,government has taken action to reduce price of anti cancer drugs by 87% benefiting about 22 lakh cancer patients to save their 800 crores of rupees, this part of movement on suggestion o PM who has previously reduced prices of cardiac stent and orthopedic transplants markedly. Delhi and other State governments too have opened many janaushudhi stores to sell generic and other medicines under reduced price control and has reduced markedly price of many surgical items used commonly in hospitals and nursing homes.
