The increasing incidence of threats and attacks on doctors and other healthcare professionals calls for urgent attention to HCPs' safety. In view of the many protests, marches, and rules-regulations to check the violence against doctors, the National Medical council has now proposed regulations on treating abusive and/or violent patients. According to these regulations, any abusive and violent behavior by a patient can be documented and reported by the doctor, who can then choose not to proceed with treatment and make the necessary referrals.
