Extragonadal teratomas of the mediastinum are rare benign lesions that commonly occur in the anterior mediastinum. The ideal treatment for these tumors is surgical resection. Minimally invasive surgeries like robotic-assisted surgeries with lung isolation ventilation have been the recent choice for resection of teratomas compared to conventional sternotomy. Here’s a rare case of advanced mediastinal teratoma that was operated robotically in a supine position utilizing double lung ventilation. Double lung ventilation prevents the complicated usage of the dual-lumen endotracheal tube (ET) while reducing the overall operative time.
