Robotic surgery has immensely grown in recent years in many parts of the world including India. It offers many advantages such as ease of access to different parts of the human body where human hands have limitations, reduced pain, small incision and scarring etc. According to 2015 report, there are as many as 4000 operations were carried out in India using robotic surgery. However, owing to the advantages of robotic surgery, it is still in its budding phase. In India, the accessibility to this technique is a major issue, which needs to be addressed on priority. There are only limited centres in India where the robotic surgery can be done.
