The prevalence of obesity has increased exponentially during the last 3 decades. Obesity is a result of energy imbalance due to high-calorie intake and few calories burned. It is a condition of an increased BMI, greater than 30. Physical activity is essential to control obesity. It also helps in energy balance and losing weight.

The World Health Organization and the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services recommend two and a half hours of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity each week to ensure good health.
