Gallbladder stones are commonly treated with laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Besides being less intrusive and risky, LC is linked with fewer postoperative problems, quicker recovery time, and shorter hospital stays. However, it has been observed that 2 to 15% of LC is converted to open cholecystectomy during surgery. These conversions are subject to several risk factors, including anatomical ambiguity, acute cholecystitis, choledocholithiasis, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and hypertension.
