Β . While several studies have been published on monkeypox infection , few have assessed its effects on pregnant women. A review of studies consisting of seven monkeypox-infected pregnant women, Β from endemic countries like Nigeria, Congo, and Zaire, has given new insights into the effects the infection can have during pregnancy.
The women were infected during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy and hospitalized.
