Shinrin-Yoku is a traditional Japanese medicinal practice of using all the five senses to engage oneself with nature. It is also called ecotherapy, nature therapy, or green therapy. The concept is based on the belief that people are a part of a global life cycle, and our psyches are not isolated or separate from our environment. Several clinicians believe that nature has a self-righting capacity, and if people harmonize with natural systems, they may experience improved mental health.
