Therapeutically, codeine is used as antitussive agent and tramadol for severe painful disorders. The other side of the coin is the high abuse of both these medications which is indicated by their huge seizures by Law enforcing agencies. DCGI has been asked to reduce their supply. Will it serve the purpose?
I feel good regulation of their supply with a ban on their sale without prescription and proper record keeping of their sale with prescription is need of the hour. For preventing their abuse at least therapeutic users should not suffer. What Is your opinion? Kindly share.
