The procedure may be used in selected children with persistent mobile flatfoot due to neuromuscular disorder, skeletal dysplasia or systemic ligamentous laxity, whose treatment is supervised by a multidisciplinary team. The procedure may be indicated rarely in highly selected adult patients.
