A 58-year-old man presented to the emergency department with a gradually worsening left calf pain for the last two weeks. He reported swelling without overlaying redness and sharp, constant pain (10/10 intensity) in the back side of the left calf. The pain was not related to exertion and minimally relieved with analgesic medication.
He denied a history of trauma, surgery, or injection in the area. Medical history Complicated type-2 diabetes mellitus with end-stage renal disease on peritoneal dialysis and diabetic retinopathy.
