A 42-year-old woman complained of a 6-week history of rapidly progressive painful gingival hyperplasia. Four weeks ago, she had three necrotic ulcers on her face and recurrent epistaxis. Examination Gingival hyperplasia was granular and had the typical hemorrhagic appearance of 'strawberry gingivitis.' Laboratory tests showed elevated antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies with a cytoplasmic staining pattern (c-ANCA). ELISA for anti-proteinase 3 antibodies was positive. Serum creatinine and urinalysis were normal.
