Consequent to strike between May 30th and June 2nd, 2016, some of the patients died, the licence of the striking doctors is likely to be cancelled and they have to pay 25 lakhs each for those died during the strike. To protest against fresh admissions in post-graduate courses in state medical colleges about 350 junior doctors went on strike. Hearing a PIL against the strike, the High Court, last week passed a verdict that the doctors at a Medical University in Lucknow would pay for the deaths caused by their strike. The government will deduct the money from the salaries of the doctors and pay to the families of those who died during the strike.
A panel has been formed to find out the number of deaths caused during the strike and it will give its report to the court within two months. The court also asked the government to extend their training period by the duration of the strike. The…
