India celebrates its 73rd Independence. This day is celebrated with great patriotism throughout the country. But what does independence mean to me as an eye doctor at a personal level? India gained its independence by non-violence movement led by nation's father- Mahatma Gandhi.
Independence day mean for me is freedom from violence and aggression against each and every doctors and healthcare professionals of India. Aggression and violence is becoming a new frightening epidemic in India and on the occasion of 73rd Independence today, I wish to strengthen doctor-patient trust to regain respect of the doctors in the society so that that the incidence of aggression and violence can be curtailed.
