I am an Immunogeneticist who teaches Ph.D. students transplantation Immunology and have expertise in tissue typing. I used to give tissue typing and cross match services to Batra Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital between 1988-1992. Since then I have been busy with research in Immunogenetic bases of autoimmune and infectious diseases.
I have also developed a technique to culture melanocytes from the normal skin of vitiligo patients and have been involved in a pilot study on transplantation of pure melanocyte cultures and non-cultured epidermal cells on bilteral lesions of vitiligo patients. The results showed drastically better repigmentation on the sites treated with pure melanocytes as early as 4 weeks after transplantation.
