The 1978’s International Conference on Primary Health Care is one of the major milestones in the history of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The resulting declaration, “Alma-Ata”, urges governments globally to protect and encourage the health of all, as per the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) unanimously adopted a resolution on 12th December 2012, calling on countries to drive momentum towards UHC. The principal objective being, every individual worldwide must have access to quality, affordable health care – as an ultimate aim for international growth.
