Our very effort to improve patient care often falls on its face. The major complaint we may have is the lack of efficacy of the drug. A recent report from the World Health Organization (WHO) verifies our concern. After a survey of 88 low and middle-income countries, the WHO has reported that one in ten marked drugs are counterfeit or substandard.

Most of these bogus pills belong to antimalarial or antibiotics. So far 1500 such complaints have been registered with WHO since 2013 resulted in 10.5% overall lack of efficacy with drugs. Source: Timesofindia Share your views!
