Urinary stones are the third most common health problem of urinary tract after the urinary tract infections and the pathological conditions of the prostate. Its management is primarily based on size, and location of the stone. This article focuses on the management strategies for the ureteral calculi. Ureteric colic is an important and frequent emergency in routine practice which is mostly caused by the obstruction of the urinary tract by calculi. The sudden onset of severe pain originating in flank and radiating inferiorly and anteriorly along with nausea and vomiting is observed in such patients.
