A nasal strip, a non-pharmacologic adhesive nasal dilator, is applied to the nasal bridge with two springs. The nasal strip pulls the nasal vestibule outward and increases the cross-sectional area of the nasal valve and the volume inside the anterior nasal region. This consequently opens the nasal passages and reduces the nasal airflow resistance. As a result, there is a rapid improvement in the inspiratory nasal airflow and relief from subjective feelings of nasal congestion and obstruction following the use of a nasal strip.
