The US FDA has granted regulatory approval for landiolol, a beta-adrenergic blocker, to reduce ventricular rate in adults with supraventricular tachycardia, including atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. Clinical evidence In five clinical trials conducted on 317 adult patients, landiolol significantly reduced heart rate in 40 to 90% of patients within ten minutes, compared to 0 to 11% of those given a placebo.
