Despite all the odds in vaccine manufacturing, India has shown its perseverance in developing vaccines against the novel coronavirus. Two leading drug manufacturing companies have launched their indigenous vaccines Covishield and Covaxin respectively. The massive vaccination drive in India that began on 16th January 2021 used the two vaccines. Through this article we aim to update you about the adverse events associated with the vaccines.

With more than 8 lakh frontline healthcare workers vaccinated in the first five days of the vaccination drive, India reported the lowest number of adverse events in the world.
