Skin manifestations are very common in diabetes patients. Type 1 diabetes is associated commonly with autoimmune conditions, and Type 2 diabetes is commonly associated with infections. The incidence of diabetes mellitus in vitiligo patients ranges between 1-7% in literature and vitiligo may precede the onset of diabetes mellitus. PREVALENCE OF VITILIGO IN DIABETES PATIENTS: According to a clinical study, vitiligo was seen in 12% of diabetic cases in comparison to 6% in control group. In another study, the vitiligo is common in 4.9% cases compared to 1.8% control group.
