A young pt. presented with obstipation for 1 day in emergency. When his abdomen was examined then find out he was operated previosly for perforated maeckel's diverticulum.

It was diagnosed as a case of adhesive intestinal obstruction and was managed conservatively with ryle's tube, iv fluids and suppository etc. He got improved. My question is how long can we keep a pt on conservative treatment?
