A 71-year-old man presented to a dermatologist with complaints of erythematous papules on his face and toenails (refer to the cover image). He was suffering from chronic kidney disease for the last 20 years. Additionally, he had suffered from tuberous sclerosis complex (Bournevilleβs disease) during his late 20s. A detailed physical examination revealed erythematous papules on the chin, nose, and cheeks, which were similar to facial angiofibromas, while those on the toenails were small and fleshy.
The patient did not have any history of seizures or developmental delay or any family history of similar cutaneous findings.
