An elderly lady with BP 200/100 with positional vertigo underwent brain MRI. The lacunar infarcts old lesions and diffuse cerebral atrophy with enlarged Virchow Robins spaces were mentioned.

What do these spaces mean, will they increase further and how to prevent them from increasing?
