An expert is a person or functionary who has an expertise in that particular field! This field could be management, finance, engineering, architecture, literature or health! In health also it could be further multifurcated into different specialties, subspecialties or diagnostic services etc. In academics, the prowess to teach with great theoretical learning with various degrees could also be leveled as an expertise in teaching.
Does it mean, anybody, having studied up to PhD automatically becomes an expert or an authority on that particular subject? I have come across this terminology during investigations or trials especially in honorable Courts, where usually an expert opinion is sought and attached.
