Wrist blocks are commonly used forms of regional anesthesia for hand surgery. Wrist blocks are most suitable for procedures which require less than 30 minutes as it does not block sensation in the area of a tourniquet. The current article provides a brief overview of wrist block along with its complications . In procedures, which needs more than 30 mins, wrist blocks can be used when a forearm tourniquet is used in conjunction with a blockade of the medial and lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerves.
