I have a 48 years old female patient who had been on Tegretol 1200mgs over 10 years. She continue to have severe episodes of seizures almost twice or thrice a week, when she came to me. I switched the medicines to Valprol 500 CR twice a day and Eptoin 300 ER once at night. Since the switch over she has been doing pretty well and the seizures has reduced and since last six months she had once or twice. (*that too when she missed the doses accidentally for a few days).
She is happy yet she said that she is in a perpetual state of lightheaded ness, imbalanced and has gum bleed occassionally. Basic investigations are insignificant. She is otherwise well and except for the zombie like state she eats well and is alright. What do you suggest or recommend.
