A 14-year-old girl was diagnosed with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) at two years of age. She had suffered from a respiratory arrest following neonatal pneumonia and from recurrent episodes of stridor, pneumonia, and wheezing. At six years, she had a further illness requiring ventilation.
