A 26-year-old married male presents to the surgery department with complaints of pain in the right side of the abdomen, loss of appetite, and nausea for the last one day. History The patient was asymptomatic a day back, when he developed pain in periumbilical region, which was mild and sudden in onset. Initially, the patient thought it was due to indigestion, but after a few hours, the pain shifted to the right side of the abdomen and became severe. The pain was continuous and could not be relieved by analgesics. It was associated with nausea and decreased appetite.
No urinary or bowel complaints were present. The patient was a non-smoker, non-addict. His family history was not contributory and he belonged to the low socioeconomic class.
