50% fees of the medical students from the non-creamy layer and economically backward class (EBC) families, would be reimbursed by the state government in their respective Aadhaar-seeded bank account. Medical students whose family annual income is between Rs 2.5 lakhs to 6 lakhs would get 50% of their fees reimbursed from 2018-19 academic session, under the state government’s Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj EBC scholarship scheme. Initially the government declared that it would reimburse only the interest amount on the education loan taken by MBBS and BDS students.
As of now the government has clearly stated that no interest will be charged on the education loan for these courses from the next academic session, rather 50% fees will be returned.
