A 5-year-old girl was presented to the clinic with complaints of constant blanking out episodes for the past 1 month. During these episodes, the patient abruptly stopped all the activities for 10 seconds. In addition to this, her eyes used to remain open during the episode with occasional fumbling of hands and suddenly returned to the state of full consciousness. After the episode, she was unaware of the incidence and had no memory of it. She had 30 such episodes per day.

History Her father had the same history of such episodes during his childhood. No history of current medications and allergies. Examination General physical and neurological examinations were normal.
