Case presentation: A 28-year-old man with a history of epilepsy and asthma was presented to a hospital for neurology consultation due to recurrent seizures and a higher level of care. Previously, the patient had two to three episodes of generalized tonic-clonic (GTC) seizures at his home. The Emergency Medical Service (EMS) found the patient in a postictal phase and admitted him to the nearest hospital. However, after five to ten minutes of admission, he had another episode of GTC seizure.

Subsequently, the patient became apneic and cyanotic. He was provided airway protection and treated with a levetiracetam loading dose.
