COVID-19 patients who develop hypoxemic respiratory failure may require endotracheal intubations. However, intubation may result in sudden desaturation, especially during laryngoscopy. Original laryngoscopes are expensive, bulky, and do not come with a camera. Commercially available video laryngoscopes are difficult to acquire during the pandemic due to high demand, require specialized training, and are expensive. Researchers from a renowned Medical College and Hospital at Lucknow have developed a novel video laryngoscope to address these issues.
