Joint pain in children and adolescents generally occurs due to overactivity, physical injury, or obesity. But there's another side of the story that remains unnoticed, i.e., structural disorders and rheumatic conditions. This article presents a case study of a teenager who was misdiagnosed, leading to a late diagnosis of arthritis and a delay in subsequent treatment. Case A 15-year-old obese Hispanic boy presented to the Orthopedic Surgery Clinic with severe pain and swelling in the medial side of the right ankle.
