Gastric Duplication Cyst (GDC) constitutes (2%-7%) of all gastrointestinal duplications. It is a rare congenital abnormality found mainly in children. This condition is uncommon in adults. Duplications can occur at any place in the intestinal tract, from the mouth to the anus. Inspite of the most advanced imaging techniques, accurate diagnosis of cysts before resection is difficult.
This current article discusses a case of GDC in a 25-year-old man who was treated laparoscopically. Differential diagnoses of GDC vary including gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), neuroendocrine tumors, pancreatic heterotopia, pancreatic pseudocysts, neurogenic tumors and mesenteric cysts.
