The Board of Governors (BOG) superseding the Medical Council of India (MCI) recently issued a notice inviting suggestions to amend the regulations influencing the stipend of medical interns. The notice was issued on 25th January, 2019, asking for suggestions from all the stakeholders within 15 days on the issue. Presently, there is a huge difference between the stipends of interns working in the government and private hospitals during their rotational internship period. Equality in the stipend of the interns of all medical facilities was a long-standing demand and is finally getting some attention.
