Amlodipine 2.5 / 5 mg + Atenolol 25/ 50 mg  tablet is physiologically ideal for heart. Calcium channel blockers reduce peripheral vascular resistance, thus afterload and preload. Beta blockers reduce myocardial workload by reducing heart rate. Both of them are good anti-arryhthmics. Thus, for anaesthesia or general purposes physiologically this combination is the best.
