Mounier-Kuhn Syndrome (MKS) or congenital tracheobronchomegaly is a rare clinical condition. It is characterized by bronchial and tracheal dilation. Dilation of the proximal bronchi is associated with airway inflammation, decreased mucociliary clearance, inefficient cough, and bronchiectasis, and/or emphysema. This case report presents a rare occurrence of MKS in an elderly male. Case presentation An 81-year-old man was presented to the pulmonology department with acute chest pain.
He had a history of recurrent respiratory infections with no smoking habit. Physical examination Physical examination revealed that the patient had tachypnea at rest. The chest examination demonstrated the presence of bilateral rales, more on basal regions.
