Synopsis Rare cancers are defined based on their incidence rate which is fewer than six per 100,000 people. They are represented by 50% of the female with genital tract tumors and 25% of all cancer deaths. Rare tumors are often misdiagnosed and lead to a delayed diagnosis that impacts the timing of treatment. Limited information on evidence-based treatment and lack of established treatment guidelines for rare cancers make it challenging due to their diverse biological behaviors.
